Symphony Enters Rig Testing

In October 2023, the Symphony team successfully completed the engine's Conceptual Design Review (CoDR). This paved the way for hardware rig tests, which are now underway. Symphony's entry into rig testing comes just 18 months after Boom announced that it would lead the development of Symphony. XB-1 Prepares for Flight Two

Since XB-1 successfully completed its first flight, the team has continued to test and confirm the aircraft's performance and handling qualities in final preparations for its second flight. Last week, XB-1 performed aircraft checkouts, including a taxi test reaching 60 knots, multiple flight control sweeps, and operation of all three engines within their entire range. Following first flight, optimizations made to the aircraft include a modified flight control system.
