We’ve hunted for rugs, we’ve hunted for bookshelves —\xa0and now we’re searching for dining-room chairs for one of our colleagues. Her criteria: simple, no metal (too “cold”) or cane (there are children in the house and they’ll destroy it), and not too trendy. This is what we turned up.— Katy Schneider & Simone Kitchens

Simone (who’s 5-11) recently went on a deep dive for actually long jeans. Nothing remotely cropped. She got this \\$80 pair fromAmomemto(then wore them three days in a row) and an even slouchier pair fromSaks Pottsand loves how they both graze her shoes. Then she asked stylish (and six-foot-tall) personDjuna Belwhere she gets her jeans. “Jeaniusfor longer-length vintage Levi’s,” she told us. “TheYSL 70shas a 36-inch inseam.Khaite Daniellehas a 35-inch.Asosdoes a longer baggy, but the quality is medium.Citizens Anninais a good mid straight baggy. These are a tall-girl-friendly pair fromNili Lotan. And there are also a fewRe/Donethat do a longer inseam.”

Nice blinds feel impossible to find, let alone any in nice not-boring colors. But we kept seeing bright ones in interiors by L.A.-basedReath Design. Turns out theycustom-orderthem from third-generation-owned Zwick Window Shade Company out of Chicago, which offers a slew of colors including pink, red, yellow, and mint green. Add acloth ring pullin the same color.

We noticed a nice mid-century wood clock on the wall of artistEmily Johnston’s house. She told us it’s by Howard Miller (foundedas an offshoot of Herman Miller under the leadership of his son!). Her exact style, here, is sold out, but we found some other varietieshereandhereand a grandfather-clock optionhere.\xa0
