Nicolas Ghesquière was in Shanghai yesterday, showing his Louis Vuitton pre-fall collection at the city’s Long Museum. Much like his fall collection in Paris last month (and, maybe, like the resort collection he’ll show in Barcelonanextmonth), this one was a showcase for the LV signatures he’s honed over a decade at the French house, with a special difference. Ghesquière collaborated with the young Chinese artist Sun Yitian, whose hyperreal creatures come to life on his colorful carcoat, shift dress, and minis. They’re instant collector’s items.
